Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Lingolean ("Service"), operated by Leandro Acevedo ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Service Description
Lingolean provides language learning tools, including a German text reader with instant word lookup, grammar analysis, and vocabulary tracking. The Service is available as a web application at app.lingolean.com.
2. Accounts
Some features require a registered account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
3. Free and Premium Plans
Lingolean offers a Free plan and a Premium plan. Free plan: anonymous visitors (no sign-up) may run up to 2 text analyses per day; registered free users may run up to 5 text analyses per day and save up to 50 words to their personal vocabulary. Each individual analysis accepts up to 15,000 words of input. Premium plan: unlimited text analyses and unlimited saved vocabulary, for €9 per month. All prices are stated in Euros (EUR), inclusive of any applicable VAT for consumers in the EU; the price displayed at checkout is the price you pay. Limits and features may evolve over time and are reflected in the in-app pricing page, which always shows the current terms before checkout.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service. This includes: attempting to access other users' accounts, reverse-engineering the Service, using the Service for unlawful purposes, or submitting content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, its design, features, and content are the property of Leandro Acevedo. You retain ownership of any texts you submit for analysis. We do not claim rights over your content.
6. Payment, Billing and Auto-Renewal
Premium subscriptions are processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited (Ireland). By subscribing, you authorize Lingolean and Stripe to charge your selected payment method automatically and recurringly: the first charge occurs immediately at sign-up, and an identical charge of €9 (or any future price disclosed to you in advance) is taken on the same calendar day of each subsequent month, indefinitely, until you cancel. The subscription has no minimum term and renews automatically on a monthly basis. If a payment fails, Stripe will retry over the following days; if all retries are unsuccessful your subscription will be cancelled and Premium access removed. You can review past invoices, update your payment method, and cancel your subscription at any time directly inside the app via Profile → Subscription → "Manage subscription" (which opens the Stripe Customer Portal), or by emailing leandro@lingolean.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain Premium access until then. 7. Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months prior to the claim.
8. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
9. Termination and Account Deletion
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time directly from the app: open the user menu (top right) → Edit Profile → "Delete Account". Account deletion is permanent and irreversible: all your decks, saved vocabulary, learning progress, chat history and account data are erased. If you have an active Premium subscription at the moment of deletion, it is automatically cancelled immediately and no further charges will be made. Account deletion does not, by itself, give rise to a refund of payments already made; refund requests are handled separately under our Refund, Cancellation & Delivery Policy.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Berlin, Germany.
